The joint candidate for Tbilisi mayor, Irakli Kupradze, promises that if elected, he will stage “authorized protest rallies” on Rustaveli Avenue every evening.

Kupradze also states that 40,000 public servants will be released.
“I promise you, as an opposition, pro-Western mayor of Tbilisi: I will do everything, I will not be afraid of anything, to respond to the Russian government and the Russian mayor’s office. This does not concern those employees who competently perform their duties. Imagine that from October 5 an opposition, pro-Western mayor schedules an authorized rally every evening — I will schedule such rallies to gain support, and 40,000 public servants will be released,” Kupradze said.

According to deputy mayoral candidate Aleko Elisashvili, after Kupradze’s victory, strikes in municipal services will begin.
“If we wake up in Tbilisi where Kupradze is the mayor and the opposition has a majority in the city council, then their feast will collapse — won’t we wake up in another Georgia? The next day Kupradze will come out and say: ‘Well then, organize strikes, fight.’ Just imagine municipal services going on strike,” Aleko Elisashvili declared.
